Project Overview

"Building" is a 3-day performance and installation in public space that was performed in Leipzig (2022) and Münster (2023). Together with passers-by, residents, and spectators, we engage in a social experiment: the joint construction and design of a shared living space.

Concept

From cooking and eating together, discussing current topics, exercising, dancing and experiencing music, to shared challenges - there's something for everyone! Participation and co-design of the utopia is possible directly at the performance site, via app, or through social media.

Project Details

Within three days, a complex construct will emerge from nothing, brought to life in collaboration with local cooperation partners. It's about participation in the community and the design of various spaces, but also about negotiation processes:

HOW MUCH COMMUNITY AND HOW MUCH INDIVIDUALISM IS IN US? HOW DO WE WANT TO SHAPE OUR COEXISTENCE?

The project explores fundamental questions about society, community, and individual responsibility through hands-on participation and collective decision-making processes. It creates a temporary utopian space where participants can experiment with different forms of living together.
