Game Over

An innovative fusion of theatrical experience, walkable installation, board game and exit game

2018-2019 Saarländisches Staatstheater

Imagine entering the theater and being told at the ticket counter: "Welcome. I see here that about two hours ago you slipped on soap in your bathroom and fell into a bathtub full of water with your hair dryer? What a way to go... my condolences. But now you're here!"

Yes, you heard right: you're dead. Stone dead. You're standing before your final journey, and that's where the spectacle begins! PRINZIP GONZO invites you to experience life after death – and to escape from it. Meet figures from the afterlife drawn from mythology, religion, literature, folklore and video games who can help you quickly leave this limbo between oblivion and hope.

But salvation from limbo comes at a price. Did you live a life before death that was worth redemption? Would you reveal your deepest secrets from your earthly time to enter your personal paradise? Or would you lie to the three-headed hellhound to reach your goal?

Since the deceased from all countries end up in the afterlife, spoken language has been abolished there. You are not only dead but also deprived of your language. But life after death doesn't mean life after technology! You get a digital tool in your hands that serves as a means of communication, guide and helper.

GAME OVER creates an innovative fusion of theatrical experience, walkable installation, board game and exit game, in which visitors can move through and interact with the afterlife in a unique way. The diverse cosmos of human preoccupation with the afterlife inspires this world, populated by strange beings and only truly brought to life by the dead audience.
